Seal Rock Energy focuses on providing full service interconnection project management for energy projects. We will work closely with a developer's electrical engineers, contractors, and civil engineers to assess interconnection routes and solve potential problems related to construction, utility costs and utility time lines. We also have the capability to work on individual projects or manage portfolios of many projects.

Seal Rock Energy coordinates the interconnection process from initial interconnection application to Commercial Operation. We will help developers navigate distribution and transmission level impact studies and group and cluster studies and we have relationships with power system modeling engineers who can prepare PSCAD and PSS/E models for developer’s projects.

WHAT WE PROVIDE

 

Utility and REGIONAL TRANSMISSION ORGANIZATION (RTO) Interconnection Support 

Seal Rock emphasizes building and maintaining strong relationships with the utilities and RTO's and leveraging these relationship to benefit their clients and their client's projects. Seal Rock's specialized interconnection experience allows them to effectively advocate for their client's projects and provide their clients with tailored project interconnection plans. Seal Rock has relationships with power system modeling consultants who can prepare PSS/E models, powerflow analyses, and benchmark analyses for RTO interconnection applications.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Seal Rock will work with their clients to develop a realistic project schedule from initial interconnection application to commercial operation. Seal Rock helps their clients and the client's contractors and consultants, stay on track for the project's targeted Permission to Operate (PTO) date. Seal Rock can lead project calls with the utility and RTO, provide agendas and lists of questions prior to the calls, and take notes during the calls. Seal Rock has relationships with power system modeling consultants who can prepare PSCAD & PSS/E models, for transmission and distribution level impact studies, and can help developer’s navigate long and complicated group and cluster studies.

 
 
 

PERSONAL SERVICES

Seal Rock can work on individual projects or entire portfolios of projects for their Clients. Seal Rock's professional experience acts as a liason between the client and utilities/RTOs. Our consultation offers an intermediary in the interconnection process and utilizes on our well established relationships within the utilities.

Large Project Interconnection with the RTO

Projects over 5 megawatts AC require more specialized oversight with the Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) as well as the utility. Seal Rock has led numerous projects over 5 MW through the utility and RTO interconnection and RTO registration process and can provide specialized plans for projects of this size.
